History of the game
Makes cycle polo popular World history: Polo is probably the first recorded game in the history. The description of a polo match is available in the poems of the Persian poet Firdausi who lived in 600BC. The Modern polo game, as we known it today is played on horseback and was patronized by maharajas and British colonialists before independence. After the First World War there was acute scarcity of horses. This gave way for of substitution of horses with cycles in the game along with a wider following.
Cycle polo Federation History:  The Cycle polo Federation of India was formed in year 1967 with former Minister. Mr. Krishna as the President and Col.G.V. Raja Travancore as E-president. Shri. A. Sathiyanarayana (Andhra Pradesh) was founder secretary. Presently federation is headed by Mr. Yesyhwant sing Alwar (President) and Shri. Raghuvendra sing Dundlod Secretary General.

Tamil Nadu Cycle polo Association: The founder President Shri. A. Ramasamy and Founder Secretary Shri. P. RameshKumar started this association 1991. The Tamilnadu Cycle polo Association full-fledged affiliated on 1994. Tamil Nadu Cycle polo Participated regularly in the National Cycle polo Championship.

    For the Following Key members   Shri. A. Ramasamy,  President, and Shri. P. Ramesh Kumar, General Secretary,  Mr. M. Murugananatham, Treasurer.
  3. On 16-Sep-1992 received Provisional affiliation from C P Federation of India
  4. 31-Mar-1994 full pledged Affiliation from federation.
  5. TNOA RECG. 13-11-2003
  6. SDAT dated 19-July-2005 Approved and Letter Received 18-Aug-2005.
  7. Major Tournament, Sub-Junior /Junior/Senior (boys and Girls and Men & Women)
  8. In apart from above said tournament, Independence Day cup Tournament.
  9. South Zone tournament, Federation cup etc. All India invitation Tournament
    Organized by Calcutta Cycle Polo Association for every year.
  10. Total players participated in the Nationals 1236 in all category Championship boys and Girls Men & women.
  11. The Government of Tamil Nadu helped lot to developed the Cycle polo during the period Of CM AMMA.
  12. In the year 1997 Tamil Nadu Secured 5th position in the Senior Men National Championship held at Rajasthan.
  13. In the year 2002 Tamil Nadu Secured 5th position in the 22nd Junior Boys National Cycle polo Championship.
  14. In the year 2003 Sub- Junior Girls Team Secured II position in the National Cycle polo Championship. (Dundlod Cup)
  15. Tamil Nadu Cycle polo Participated regularly in the National Cycle polo Championship.
